Expert surprised by Bern's ignorance about detention centers
The Swiss Federal Office for Migration does not know how many establishments exist in Switzerland to detain people awaiting a decision on their right to remain in the country. That’s according to a new report by the Graduate Institute in Geneva on immigration detention in the country. Michael Flynn co-authored this report, whose work is part of a global research initiative. He is the founder and head of the Global Detention Project at the Graduate Institute—a research unit that assesses states’ use of detention in response to global migration. He speaks to WRS’s Dave Goodman.
