Cap Anamur - Elias Birdel
Submitted by saga on 18 December, 2007 - 20:25.A speech from Elias Birdel, who was one of the heads of Cap Anamur, the ship that saved in 2004 refugees in the Mediterranean See. After three weeks of blockade, the ship could finally enter an Italian port. The refugees got later deported, Elias Birdel and other crew members were judged in Italy for "help of illegal immegration". Two weeks ago Elias Birdel visited Freiburg and spoke about european migration politics. Our program will be in German. Saga, Radio Dreyeckland, www.rdll.de.

North London Aspire Partnership I Refugee Week Radio
Submitted by London Link Radio on 8 December, 2007 - 20:09.For Refugee Week 2007, London Link Radio worked with staff and participants of the North London Aspire Partnership to produce a radio programme, which was broadcast on Refugee Week Radio. During a series of short training sessions, participants learnt basic interviewing and recording techniques using portable digital recorders. They then recorded interviews and personal contributions, which were edited on computer. The programme begins with UCRA project officer Chinelo Ezenwa being interviewed by trainee Yollande.
