Irregular migrants fear state violence
Migrants who go to work in other countries may not only face violence from criminals, but also from government authorities in those countries according to a UN independent human rights expert.
The issue of violence against migrant workers and their families is one of the topics during the week-long session of theCommission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice taking place in Vienna, Austria.
François Crépeau, Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants who participated in the discussion, told Anne Thomas that he hoped the human rights perspective would widen the debate on migrants.

L’Institut Panos Paris s’associe à l’initiative Radio 18/12. Certains journalistes radios formés dans le cadre du projet « Sans papiers, sans clichés : mieux informer sur les migrations » vont ainsi participer à la Journée des migrants 2012 en réalisant ou diffusant des reportages. Un partenariat plus approfondi sera développé pour l’édition 2013 de cet événement.
